1988 Jaguar XJR8/9
With it’s iconic Silk Cut livery, the Jaguar XJR8/9 has to be one of the most recognisable racing cars of the 1980s. Built by racing expert Tom Walkinshaw and designer Tony Southgate, the XJR8/9 contained a 720bhp 7 litre V12 and competed in the ultra-high performance Le Mans Group C class. The car also set a time of 44.19 at the 2008 Goodwood Festival of Speed making it the fastest closed-wheel racing car up the drive.
